Celebrating 25 Years
Empowering Families to Shape a Better Life

Our Programs

Transitional Living Program

Thames River Family Program is a 24 hour staffed, transitional living program with 24 apartments.  Advocates and other supportive staff work with families to establish achievable goals.  Programs featuring life skills, money mangement, parenting, tenancy education, health, employment, education, communication and personal growth are offered.  Families are linked to community providers for health, trauma, mental health and substance abuse treatment and other identified needs. Families live  at Thames River Family Program for up to two years.

Supportive Housing Program

This program partners with nine families to provide comprehensive, individualized services and safe and affordable scattered site housing units. Heads of household in these families have mental illness and/or chemical dependency, histories of trauma/domestic violence, are homeless and have incomes at or below 50% of the median income of this area. Services include case management, referral and linkage to addiction, mental health and family health support services, advocacy, community information and referral, life skill development in tenancy education, parenting, education, employment, communication and conflict resolution, money management and personal growth.
