Sheila Coleman is a leader of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging and is responsible for building, and launching, a range of initiatives which will strategically advance companywide cultural transformations. Ms. Coleman’s strategic approach seeks to inspire the celebration of diverse perspectives and foster an inclusive work environment for all stakeholders by building trusting partnerships across all business lines of the organization. Ms. Coleman has experience with serving marginalized and underserved populations. As an undergrad at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, Ms. Coleman volunteered her time to assist victims of sexual assault and domestic 

violence. Ms. Coleman continued working with these populations as the Adult Advocate for Hartford Interval House. Ms. Coleman is passionate about reducing health disparities for marginalized groups in the substance abuse industry and is currently completing doctoral research which will reduce knowledge gaps related to culturally responsive approaches to treatment.


In addition to this work, Ms. Coleman serves on the Board of Directors for Thames Rive Family Services and Martin House, Inc. She is dedicated to using her experience in both the public and private sectors to broaden access to housing resources and integrated services for the homeless population, reducing barriers to mental health services, and building strong communities.



Ms. Coleman holds a master’s degree in Social Work from the UCONN School of Social Work. She also holds a bachelor of arts degree in from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Ms. Coleman is currently a Southern Connecticut University Doctoral candidate
